You could literally cut the tension with a knife with this knife set! They are that sharp! They were packaged very safely and securely, and it was really easy to set up. It is a very aesthetically pleasing set and fits in perfectly on my kitchen worktop. The knife sharpener will be an amazing feature to have and the 13-piece set is plenty enough for all my food prep and cooking needs! The only negative would be that it feels a little clunky pulling the knives out and putting them back in, and if you miss the hole when putting a knife back in it will easily scratch the surface of the block. Overall though, this is an easy 5/5!

Why is the sharpener removable?

You choose: leave it on the block, or take it off and keep it in a drawer to save counter space.

How often should I sharpen the knives?

Ninja recommends sharpening about every two weeks, or when you notice the knife cutting less well. Lock the clean, dry knife in the sharpener and move the handle back and forth a few times.

Are the knives dishwasher safe?

No. Wash the knives by hand and dry them straight away – that keeps them sharp and shiny for longest.

Can I sharpen the bread knife and the scissors?

No. The sharpener is made for Ninja's straight-edged blades. Don't use it on the serrated bread knife or on the scissors.

How fast will it arrive, and can I change my mind?

Description

The new version of Ninja StaySharp: a slimmer knife block with a sharpener you can take off. Use it on the block, or lift it off and put it in a drawer – giving you more space on the counter.

The sharpener has a ceramic wheel. A couple of strokes of the lever is enough to give the knife a sharp edge again, and with regular sharpening the knives stay sharp for ten years according to Ninja.

The knives are made of German X50CrMoV15 stainless steel with a full tang, so the blade runs right through the handle. The set covers everyday cooking: a 20 cm chef's knife and bread knife, a 13 cm santoku, a 9 cm paring knife, six 11 cm steak knives and kitchen and herb scissors that come apart.

The block is about 38 cm tall with a 24 × 25 cm footprint. It comes in stone gold, cyberspace (navy) and black.
