No, the game requires Nintendo Switch 2. It cannot be played on Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite or Switch OLED.
How many people can play at once?

Description
Mario Kart World takes the series onto open roads. The tracks link up into one big world of towns, plains, deserts and sea, and the drive between tracks becomes part of the race. Up to 24 drivers race at once, so it gets close and chaotic in the best way.
Pick Grand Prix, Knockout Tour where the last drivers are knocked out at each checkpoint, or Free Roam to drive freely, find challenges and take photos. New moves like charged jumps, wall riding and rail grinding open up more routes – and steering assist makes it easy for young drivers to keep up.
