Apple lists Studio Display and Studio Display XDR as compatible.
Is a cable included?
No, only the adapter. Use the device's own Thunderbolt cable.

Description
With the adapter you connect older Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 devices, such as external hard drives and docks, to a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) or USB 4 port on your Mac.
It works both ways, so you can also connect new Thunderbolt 3 devices to an older Mac with a Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 port and macOS Sierra or later. The adapter does not support DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort displays.
