How to connect to iPad (A16)
Attach the USB-C to Apple Pencil adapter to the pencil and connect it to the USB-C cable from your iPad. The pencil then pairs and charges.

It pairs and charges via its Lightning connector. With iPad (A16) you need the USB-C to Apple Pencil adapter, which comes in the box along with a Lightning adapter and a spare tip.
